We drove all the way from Toronto, through Old Quebec and New Brunswick, to Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia, to drive the Cabot Trail at peak fall colours 🍁 We started with a foggy sunrise at our hotel, then drove the western side of the loop: winding roads through the Cape Breton Highlands, the bluest water we've ever seen, a beach stop, and the famous Skyline Trail boardwalk 🌊⛰️ Fish & chips for lunch, then back the way we came.
Honestly, the best fall drive we've ever done: mountains on one side, the ocean on the other.
🗺️ Route: Toronto → Quebec City → New Brunswick → Cape Breton Island → Cabot Trail (Margaree → Chéticamp → Skyline Trail → Pleasant Bay → Cape North) and back
📏 About 2,000 km each way to get there. The full road trip is coming in another video!

💡 Tips if you're doing this drive:
• Fall colours usually peak in early to mid October. Book your stay early, because it's the busiest time of year.
• You need a Parks Canada pass to stop inside Cape Breton Highlands National Park (the Skyline Trail is in the park).
• The Skyline Trail is about 6.5 km return, with lots of stairs on the boardwalk at the end. Wear good shoes.
• Fill up on gas before the national park; stations are few and far between on the northern part of the trail.
