It's awesome for lifters at all skill levels, and it can be used for strength and hypertrophy. On top of this, it's easy to modify, program, and scale based on your overarching fitness goals. For example, if you wanted to program them as an accessory, then doing the following could be useful. Sets & Reps -3x8-10 reps Note: 1-sec pause at the top, 2-3 second eccentric The big thing is to stay consistent with your from week to week to track progress more accurately.
