"They Will Rob You" - I Ignored The Warnings About Colombia's Capital City

I pushed into the off limits zones of Colombia's capital city completely solo, to document the unfiltered reality of travel in South America. This is a raw travel vlog that exposes the perils and intense culture shock of exploring one of Latin America's most overwhelming cities. The capital is the first step in the country for almost every tourist, yet how dangerous this city can be is conveniently left out by most travel guides. In fact, the USA government has level 3 travel advisory for the city for crime. I took to the streets on my first day, and was immediately warned by locals that things would quickly go south if I didn't hide all my valuables taking public transportation. Arriving at the bus station, I experienced the chaotic reality myself, seeing people openly hopping the gates as opposed to paying the fare. As I took the cable car into the city's most notorious district, the reality of the place became apparent. After being warned by a guard telling me the area isn't safe, I shared an ice cream with a local girl who gave me insight into what living there is actually like. Despite this warm interaction, things quickly took a turn for the worse when I discovered what was truly hiding in the back alleys. This unfiltered travel documentary pulls back the curtains on what it's actually like to solo travel and adventure through one of the dodgiest capital cities in the world.
