How much do IVF, egg freezing and surrogacy really cost, and how can you pay for them? In this free financial readiness masterclass, Sunfish co-founder and CEO Angela Rastegar talks with leaders from the Jewish Fertility Foundation and the Brilora Fertility Foundation. They cover fertility grants, loans, discounts and the support available to families paying for fertility treatment. All three speakers have gone through infertility themselves. They walk through real treatment costs, who qualifies for fertility grants and how to apply, and how to combine grants, insurance, employer benefits and financing so the cost of building your family doesn’t catch you off guard. Key takeaways: Jewish Fertility Foundation (JFF) offers needs-based IUI and IVF grants of up to $10,000 and surrogacy grants of up to $20,000, plus a 20% discount at its partner clinics. Grants are open to people who are Jewish and live near one of its 11 locations. Its emotional support programs are free and open to anyone. Brilora Fertility Foundation offers IVF grants of up to $20,000 and surrogacy grants of up to $65,000, along with free support socials, six-week support cohorts and outreach to rural areas. Surrogacy can cost as much as $200,000. Many people need more than one IVF cycle, so it helps to talk with your doctor and budget for that early. Ways to pay include fertility loans (Sunfish offers unsecured loans of up to $50,000 and secured loans, such as a HELOC, of up to $400,000), employer benefits, HSAs, medication savings programs, grants and clinic discounts. A grant doesn’t have to be paid back, a loan does, and a discount lowers the price you pay to a clinic or pharmacy. You can still apply for a grant after using your insurance coverage. LGBTQ+ families and single parents by choice are welcome to apply. This video is for educational purposes only and isn’t medical or financial advice.
