YarnWire performs Ascensions by Edwards

Ascensions: Interlocking Canons by Timothy Dwight Edwards was performed by Yarn/Wire on April 5, 2025 at PianoForte Chicago. This piece consists of a series of interconnected canons, usually rising. Sometimes these are traditional canons, in the sense that one musician follows another, and sometimes they follow other symmetries. Nonetheless for the purpose of this description they will be called canons, despite being a retrograde inversion, for example. In some cases a voice is passed between players in hocket.
