IELTS Speaking Cue Cards: 4 New Topics, Each Answered at Band 9

IELTS Speaking Part 2: four new cue cards, each answered at a Band 9 level in a full long turn of close to two minutes, with a teacher's note on the one skill each answer shows. The four cue cards 1. Describe a film you enjoyed that made you think about your own life. (Tense control: the past for her own story, the present to retell the film.) 2. Describe a skill you would like to learn that most of your friends already have. (The future, precisely: a date, a plan, a guess and a hope.) 3. Describe a family celebration you helped to organise. (Paraphrase: she never uses the card's own words.) 4. Describe some good advice someone gave you that you still follow today. (Reporting verbs: suggested, pointed out, not just said.) How to practise with this video 1. Read each card, pause, and plan for one minute, as in the test. 2. Talk for up to two minutes, then listen to the Band 9 answer. 3. Take one skill from the teacher's notes into your next answer.
