Turn on your tap tonight and you will drink something no human being had reliable access to for three hundred thousand years. Not clean water — finished water. Water that somebody else already solved.
Every pond your ancestors drank from carried something. There was no boiling, because there was nothing to boil water in. No filtering. No way to see the problem at all.
So how did anyone survive? The answer is not a technology. It is a behaviour — and the moment we stopped doing it, water became the thing that killed us for the next ten thousand years.

In this video, we discuss:
The Invisible Problem: what was actually in the water, and why nobody could have known.
Outrunning It: why moving camp every few weeks worked better than any filter.
The Engraved Eggshell: sixty-thousand-year-old canteens, marked with their owner's sign.
The Bill Comes Due: settlement, cities, and the pump handle on Broad Street.
Your great-grandmother did not have what you have. The tap in your wall is roughly a hundred and seventy years old. The problem it solves is three hundred thousand.
Which part of this surprised you most? Tell me in the comments — I read them all.
