If your shoes feel tight by the end of the day, going up a size probably won't fix it. In one study of older adults, about eight out of ten were wearing shoes that didn't fit their feet the way they should.
In this video we go through five signs your shoes are the wrong fit, what the research says about each one, and what to look for the next time you buy a pair. Number one is the one that fools almost everybody.
There's also a simple check you can do at home tonight with the shoes you already own.
When was the last time somebody actually measured your feet? Tell us in the comments.
This video is general information, not medical advice. If you have foot pain that doesn't go away, corns or bunions that bother you, numbness, or diabetes, talk to your doctor or a foot specialist.
