Partita on "Jesu, meine Freude" - Johann Gottfried Walther

J. G. Walther was a cousin of Bach who wrote many organ works in the German Baroque style. Among these are the expansive Partita on "Jesu, meine Freude" (Jesus, priceless treasure). The varied treatments of the Lutheran hymn tune lead up to a rousing Fughetta with the melody in the Pedal. Saint Mark's Cathedral, Seattle WA. Recorded live as Organ By Night, following the Compline service of Sunday, October 18, 2026.
