» Pakistan is a federation of more than 240 million people, currently organised into four provinces with vastly different geographies, populations, resources and development challenges. As these provinces grow and administrative demands become increasingly complex, questions about the country’s federal and provincial structure continue to surface.
Drawing on perspective of Raza Hasan from the United States, this session will examine the idea of smaller provinces in Pakistan and the arguments surrounding administrative decentralisation, governance, representation, resource distribution and regional development.
