The discourse explores how Prajapati through meditation and rites produced the seven kinds of food necessary for sustaining different orders of beings. Unfolding the deeper relationship between the enjoyer, the consumed, and the karmic bindings arising from spiritual ignorance, the talk illuminates the core principles of Advaita Vedanta philosophy. This discourse in Bengali is part of a systematic study of the Brihadaranyak Upanishad. It is part of a dedicated effort by Indian Spiritual Heritage to preserve and share the authentic wisdom of Indian scriptures in their purest form. Our goal is the selfless dissemination of spiritual truth for the benefit of all seekers. Brihadaranyak Upanishad is the largest Upanishad consisting of six sections. It comes in the Shukla Yajurveda. Among many other things, it discusses the nature of Atman. It is also famous for the dialogues by Yajnavalkya with Maitreyi, Gargi and king Janaka. The Upanishads are the science of freedom through the knowledge of one’s true self. The last sections of each of the four Vedas are known as the Upanishads. Since these come at the end of the Vedas, they are known as Vedanta. The term can also be interpreted to mean ‘the essence of the Vedas’.
