Why would you die for somebody you met eleven minutes ago? Counter-Strike constantly asks players to accept personal risk for a shared reward, whether that means entrying first, throwing utility for someone else, dropping a weapon, or trusting that the guy behind you is actually going to trade. So naturally, I became unnecessarily educated about the Prisoner’s Dilemma, repeated games, reciprocity, trust, solo queue, stacking, and why five completely rational players can somehow end up standing outside A Ramp with twenty seconds left. This is a PowerPoint about why teamwork works, why it falls apart, and why unfortunately you might be part of the problem. If you enjoy watching me apply academic concepts to Counter-Strike for reasons nobody asked for, consider subscribing.
