God often teaches us through people who come from different backgrounds and experiences.

Jesus praised the faith found in the centurion who was outside the expected group. It takes humility to learn from others, including those that are not part of our "in-crowd". We can learn from people who are different from us in a social or cultural manner. Diversity can help deepen our understanding of God and His purpose.
