Koreans Harvesting Cassava at Home | Filipino Traditional Cooking with Fresh Coconut Milk

We are a Korean family living in the Philippine province, spending another day harvesting from our garden and enjoying Filipino traditional cooking at home. Today, we started with cassava harvesting in the Philippines, digging up fresh cassava, locally known as kamoteng kahoy, from our garden. While harvesting, we also prepared fresh coconuts to extract the coconut milk we needed for today's dish. After the harvest, we brought the cassava to our kitchen, where we washed and cleaned it before preparing everything for cooking. For today's dish, we decided to make Ginataang Kamoteng Kahoy, a traditional Filipino food with coconut milk, sugar, and a few other simple ingredients. We started by boiling the cassava over fire until it became tender. Once it was cooked, we added our freshly extracted coconut milk, sugar, and the remaining ingredients, letting everything simmer until the cassava was coated in the sweet and creamy coconut milk mixture. Filipino kamoteng kahoy dishes can be prepared in different ways, and today we're making one of our favorites using freshly harvested cassava and homemade coconut milk. From the cassava harvest in Philippines to preparing fresh coconut milk and cooking everything over fire, we enjoyed another day of Filipino traditional cooking in our countryside home. After all the harvesting and cooking, we finally sat down together to enjoy our homemade Ginataang Kamoteng Kahoy.
