Maybe not the last video in my Mishimoto Oil Cooler series, cuz who know what other issues may arise from the poor design. The only way to get Mishimoto's thermostatic and spacer plates to fit on an ND2 (2019+) is to replace the ND2 oil filter housing with an ND1 oil filter housing, Mazda part number PEES-14-311, around $54 retail. Get a new aluminum gasket at the same time, Mazda part number PEES-14-342, around $4 retail. Here's the basis of the problem: Mishimoto's stainless steel center adapter bolt is too long. When using the THREADED double male adapter (from the 2019+ supplemental kit) on the ND2 oil filter housing, the stainless center adapter bolt is too long and won't compress the rubber gaskets on the spacer and thermostatic plates. The stainless center bolt adapter WILL work on the ND1 filter housing. The next fitment problem: There are 2 ways to re-connect the 2 coolant hoses removed from either side of the OEM "oil cooler": 1. You can use the double male BARBED fitting to join the two 3/8" coolant hoses, in which case, you will need to purchase the 2019+ supplemental kit, currently (as of 4/4/23) only available from Flyin' Miata, and not from Mishimoto. 2. Alternatively, if you don't want to use the barbed adapter, you can remove the shorter coolant hose and re-use the longer cooling hose to make the jump. It's a very tight space but doable with the right tools. So...the only reasons to buy the "2019+ Supplemental Adapter Kit" for the ND2, is if you want to use the double male BARBED connector for the coolant hoses, and you need a 12mm hex (Allen) key. I ran the engine about 20 minutes to get the oil temp hot enough to open the thermostatic switch so oil was running throughout the entire system. I didn't have any leaks at any of the fittings...yet!
