October Railfan Gathering on the Hudson. Ian mistakes, Schneiderphobia, and foreign power. 10/24/26

Another one of our bi-annual railfan gatherings on the Hudson.  This was a beautiful day and we had a lot of fun and saw quite a few trains and foreign power at Mine Dock Park. CSX ran an impressive array of trains. We get to see the new CSX/BNSF transcontinental Amazon trains with BNSF power. We also see CN power on another train plus the CSX ONE unit. After a good lunch we headed to Scarborough on Metro North and saw rapid fire Metro North and Amtrak trains in glorious light. We got a few horn performances from a couple of Metro North engineers.  One of our rail fan members came down with Schneiderphobia and had to be carted off to Bellevue Hospital after a breakdown. Just kidding about that. 😆😆😆.  The usual folks showed up for our gathering plus a few extras. People are always razzing Ian, but he’s actually a highly educated person who takes it all in stride as the whole idea behind these gatherings is for everybody to have fun and watch the trains. People were even getting on my case praising Silverliner 4’s and trashing Silverliner 5’s. Outrageous.
