Am I Really Ready for Jesus to Come Back? | Psalm 132

Are you genuinely looking forward to the return of Jesus—or has this world become so comfortable that His coming feels distant? In Psalm 132, the pilgrims approaching Jerusalem look back to God’s covenant with David and forward to the King God promised would reign forever. David’s descendants failed, kingdoms fell, and Israel was left without a king—but God did not forget His promise. That promise ultimately points us to Jesus Christ, the Anointed One—the King from David’s line whose throne will endure forever. As followers of Jesus, we are pilgrims too. Our true hope isn't ultimately found in this world, but in the eternal righteousness and peace we will know under our loving and holy King. This message from Psalm 132 challenges us to consider: • Do I really recognize Jesus as my sovereign King? • Do I trust God's faithfulness even when life is difficult? • Is my heart longing for Christ and His return? • Am I living with the joy and expectation of someone who knows where this journey ends? The Christian's hope is not simply that everything will eventually be okay. Our hope is that Jesus Christ is King, God keeps His promises, and Christ is coming again. “Amen.
