Underwater Puppy Dogs Are Amazing! | Atlantic Grey Seals @ The Isle of Shoals, New Hampshire

I went scuba diving with wild Atlantic grey seals at the Isles of Shoals — and one of them decided my fins were its new favorite toy. 🦭🤿 About six miles off the coast of New Hampshire and Maine, the Isles of Shoals are a remote group of rocky islands with centuries of maritime and fishing history. Today, they’re also home to a thriving population of Atlantic grey seals. On this dive with Portsmouth Scuba (‪@PADI‬ Shop) and Captain Jack's Dive Boat, we headed beneath the surface to explore the islands from an entirely different perspective. We knew the seals were there, but with wild animals, there’s never a guarantee they’ll actually interact with you. This time, they did. What started as a few curious passes turned into an incredible encounter with a grey seal following me through the water, swimming alongside us, and repeatedly chasing and nibbling at my fins like an underwater puppy. No feeding. No chasing. No staged encounter. Just a wild animal deciding to come over and investigate us on its own terms.
