Chakzam Bridge & Sela Lake 🏔️🌉 | Exploring Tawang’s Hidden History & High-Altitude Beauty Our Tawang journey continued with two completely different experiences — the *historic Chakzam Bridge* and the breathtaking **Sela Lake**. 🏔️✨ Our first stop was the incredible *Chakzam Bridge**, also known as the **Chushul Chakzam* — a centuries-old iron-chain suspension bridge associated with the legendary Tibetan engineer and Buddhist adept **Thang Tong Gyalpo**. Built around **1430**, this remarkable bridge is believed to be one of the last surviving traditional Tibetan iron bridges in the region. 🌉🙏 Spanning approximately **100 metres**, the bridge crosses the Tawang Chu River and gives you a fascinating glimpse into ancient Himalayan engineering. 🇮🇳🏔️ 🎟️ *Chakzam Bridge Entry:* Check the local ticket counter for the current fee 🌉 *Length:* Approximately 100 metres 📜 *Construction:* Around 1430 🏔️ *Elevation:* Located in the high-altitude Tawang region From this historic bridge, we continued towards one of the most spectacular landscapes of the entire journey — **Sela Lake**. 💙❄️ Located near the famous *Sela Pass**, Sela Lake is a beautiful high-altitude glacial lake surrounded by dramatic Himalayan peaks.
