The aircraft went down shortly after takeoff from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, claiming the lives of passengers, crew members, and people on the ground. The sole survivor, British citizen Vishwas Kumar Ramesh, escaped the wreckage after unbuckling his seatbelt in the emergency exit row.
