These are the sales questions to stop asking on discovery calls. If you run an AI agency, these discovery call questions are why your prospects give you vague answers. Your prospect is not guarded. You handed them a vague question. Every sales book teaches all three, and every one of them tells your prospect exactly what you are about to do with the answer, which is why they will not give you one. KEY TAKEAWAYS: Surface level questions get surface level answers. Your prospect is not hiding from you. They are matching the depth you asked at, and that transaction is fair. About 5% of prospects will answer "what's your biggest challenge" straight. Those are the people already buying from somebody this month. That is timing, not skill. A question that works has three pieces. Say their current situation back to them flat and factual. Give it a small grudging compliment, the word is decent or fine. Then ask what caused them to feel it might not be enough. Tone decides whether the question fires. Mildly confused puts you on their side of the table working something out together. Confident puts you across from them trying to get something. Pain somebody is in right now, or fear that pain is coming. Those are the only two things that move a human being to change anything. There is no third one. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ CHAPTERS: ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 0:00 - Why your prospects give you vague answers 0:57 - Surface level questions get surface level answers 1:41 - The three sales questions to stop asking 2:16 - Why only 5% of prospects ever answer them 2:47 - The moment you stop being an adviser and become a category 3:33 - The three piece question that actually works 4:05 - Why decent is the only word that works 4:48 - What caused you to feel that might not be enough 5:38 - Why your prospect is really talking to themselves 6:11 - Your tone has to sound confused, not confident 7:19 - Verbal pacing and why you have to slow down 8:13 - Wimp Junction and where traditional salespeople go to die 8:50 - The 100% question 10:01 - How to probe when they finally open up 11:02 - Pain now or fear of pain later Watch this next: A Stalled Deal Is Not a Dead Deal    • A Stalled Deal Is Not a Dead Deal   Got an AI retainer stuck right now?
