THEY LET ME IN!!! Can you believe it?! The big shiny gates with the pointy teeth-bars went UP and nobody even tried to stop me! Well, the guards looked at me funny, but I just played a real loud chord on my lute and strolled very briskly past them. This place is HUGE. There are so many pockets to pick, I mean, friendly citizens to play for! And there are giant statues and flying Gnomish contraptions everywhere! Why? Nobody knows. It’s magic. Anyway, I wrote this song right after walking through the gates because my brain was vibrating and if I didn't sing it out loud, my head would have exploded. It’s about the sights, the smells and the fact that I haven't been thrown in a dungeon yet! Listen, share, and toss some gold into my hat before the City Watch realizes I don't have a street performer permit! 🪙🎵 Lyrics I used to sweep the dust across the dungeon floor, Behind a heavy, iron-bolted crypt-side door. Adventurer’s broke in now my Lich boss is no more. The singing elf went down, so I grabbed his lute and ran, Across the dusty thresholds that I never dared to pass, And walked a hundred miles through the mud and meadow grass. Now the sun is high and blinding to my eyes, As these mountain peaks of stone and timber start to rise. Walking through the gates of Waterdeep, Where the towers touch the sky, and the city never sleeps. The city guards are glaring, but I’ve got a destiny! Coming to Waterdeep, it’s been waiting for me! There are wizards walking by in robes of velvet red. And a giant statue standing right above my head. They’ve got magic lights that flicker when the night comes down, And more silver coins than any master in my town. I don't know why they wash their gold or sleep in beds so high Or why the gnomes are building contraptions that can fly But my pockets might get heavier before the night is done If I pluck these copper strings and sing for everyone. Walking through the gates of Waterdeep, Where the towers touch the sky, and the city never sleeps. The city guards are glaring, but I’ve got a destiny! Coming to Waterdeep, it’s been waiting for me! Back home they’re making stew and hiding from the gnolls. While I am dodging carts and reading magic scrolls. I’m a little green and short, my boots are full of holes. But I’ll conquer every tavern from the docks to city walls. They think a goblin only knows the dagger and the bow. But I’m gonna make them listen to my traveling show. The coin purse at your hip is looking mighty loose and fine. And soon the folks of Waterdeep will bow to songs of mine. Walking through the gates of Waterdeep, Where the towers touch the sky, and the city never sleeps. The city guards are glaring, but I’ve got a destiny! Coming to Waterdeep, it’s been waiting for me! 🛠️ Production Credits: Visuals: Vizzy.io + Leonardo Music: Suno Lyrics by Skrunko the Silver-Tongued ====================================================================== [ ⚖️ LEGAL DISCLAIMER & GOBLIN ADVISORY ] ====================================================================== "Welcome to Waterdeep" is unofficial Fan Content permitted under the Fan Content Policy.
