The Class 458 has officially been retired by South Western Railway — but on 29 August 2026, I managed to ride one again. Join me for what could be one of my final journeys aboard an SWR Class 458, travelling from Feltham to Weybridge and back to Feltham. Despite the type's official retirement, a small number of Class 458s have continued appearing in service to cover workings when required — giving us a rare opportunity to experience these distinctive trains again. In this video, I take you through the train from end to end, showing the interior, seating, passenger accommodation and the journey itself, while talking about the Class 458's history, its unusual career and why these trains have reached the end of the line. For me, this is also something of a farewell journey. The Class 458 has been part of the South Western network for many years, and opportunities to travel on one are now becoming increasingly rare. 🚆 TRAIN: South Western Railway Class 458 📍 ROUTE: Feltham → Weybridge → Feltham 📅 FILMED: 29 August 2026 🇬🇧 LOCATION: Surrey & West London, England 🎥 FEATURES: Full journey • Interior tour • Commentary • Class 458 farewell If you're interested in British trains, South Western Railway, railway history and disappearing UK rolling stock, come along for one of the Class 458's final chapters. #Class458 #SouthWesternRailway #SWR #BritishRailways #UKTrains #TrainTravel #Railway #RailwayHistory #Feltham #Weybridge #TrainEnthusiast
