The Cavern Club is one of the most iconic music venues in the world, widely recognized as the birthplace of The Beatles. Located on Mathew Street in Liverpool, it originally opened on January 16, 1957, as a jazz cellar. It quickly evolved into the cradle of British pop and "Merseybeat" music, famously hosting The Beatles for 292 documented performances between 1961 and 1963. While the original underground cellar was sadly demolished and filled in during rail construction in 1973, it was meticulously rebuilt in 1984. The current re-creation stands on the same site, overlapping roughly 70% of the original footprint and utilizing many of the original bricks. Today, it remains a thriving pilgrimage site for music lovers, operating 364 days a year with near-continuous live tribute acts, resident bands, and unsigned talent performing under its legendary brick arches.
