Golden ginkgo leaves drifting past the window, a plate of omurice just out of the kitchen, and nowhere you need to be.
"Kissaten" (純喫茶) are the old-fashioned Japanese coffee houses of the Showa era, at their best in the 1970s — velvet seats, siphon coffee, ketchup omurice, and no one rushing you.
You may never have been to Japan. Somehow, this place still feels like somewhere you used to know.
This is the same little shop on a narrow street in Tokyo, at dusk in late autumn. The ginkgo trees have turned gold, the siphons are warm, and the shop cat is asleep by the window. Three hours of quiet piano, acoustic guitar and soft saxophone, until the street lamps come on.
Perfect for:
• Studying, working, or reading
• Autumn evenings at home
• Falling asleep
All music is original and created for Tokyo Kissaten.
Stay a little longer. The leaves will still be falling.
