Jackie’s story: how your support is giving hope to patients | Clatterbridge Cancer Charity

When Jackie Ward woke up one morning with a “kaleidoscope” in her eye, she had no idea her life was about to change. She was diagnosed with ocular melanoma and told she could have as little as a year to live. Today, thanks to a clinical trial at the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre in Liverpool, Jackie is a year and a half past that prognosis. She is watching her grandchildren grow up, playing pirates with seven-year-old Oscar, and was there for the birth of baby Phoebe, something she never thought would happen. In this video, Jackie and her consultant share what it means to be part of research that could change how this rare cancer is treated, and why none of it would be possible without the generosity of our supporters.
