Today is the feast of Saint Luke, the evangelist and physician. Psalm 119 says, your statutes have been my songs in the house of my pilgrimage. It is good for me that I have been afflicted, that I may learn your statutes. The law of your mouth is dearer to me than thousands in gold and silver. In Second John, the elder writes to the elect lady. Love one another, and walk according to his commandments. Many deceivers have gone out into the world. Then Luke tells us why he wrote. Many have set down a narrative, and he has followed all things closely to write an orderly account for most excellent Theophilus, so that you may have certainty concerning the things you have been taught. Today's lessons are read from the English Standard Version.
