Financial District and Seaport - Summer in NYC Manhattan Walk [4k] Friday, July 28, 2023@ 1:00 pm, 35°C / 95°F Walking through the Financial District brings back memories of a pre-pandemic time. We begin at the World Trade Center 9/11 Memorial, where memories of the past are strongest even after so many years. The nearby museum brings to life the horrors of that day and honors those that were lost. Walking through Zuccotti Park reminds me of when people Occupied Wall Street in protest of the 1%. Outdoor dining could be enjoyed at the picturesque Stone Street before it was citywide. Despite living in New York for over a decade, I still managed to get lost and walk down the wrong Stone Street. The streets of New York are full of history and surprises, so no matter what street you take, you are bound to discover the vibrant activity of today or ghosts of the past. Eventually, I make it out to South Street Sea Port, an area worthy of its own day of exploration, but I mostly spend time on Pier 17 looking across the East River at the view of the bridges.
