I Stopped Calling (Official Music Video) — Circuit Breaker as Delta blues | The Principles (A4)

The official music video for I Stopped Calling: the Circuit Breaker pattern, sung as Delta blues and acted out on a porch. The Caller is the client. Every little figure that walks out of his shack is one of his calls, and the house down the walkway is the service he keeps calling. When it stops answering, the calls queue at its door until they time out. So he pulls the cord: the bridge lifts, the breaker is OPEN, and new calls drop straight to the fallback instead of waiting. After sixty seconds on the clock he lets exactly one through (HALF-OPEN). It comes back with a 200, and the bridge comes down again (CLOSED). Where it stops being simple: The breaker only sees errors. How does it learn the service recovered, without everyone rushing back at once? Watch what happens at "just one". LYRICS Mmm... five times... Well I called you in the mornin', and you didn't pick up the line I called you in the evenin', baby, timeout every time I called you once, I called you twice, I called you three, four, five Lord, I'm wastin' all my threads just tryin' to keep this thing alive So I tripped my little breaker, and I set my phone aside When the boss asks "where's the data", I say "fallback", and I lie I ain't callin' you no more, babe, I ain't waitin' on your door I fail fast now, honey, don't hang thirty seconds anymore But the clock on the wall says sixty seconds since you fell So I'll call you just once, baby... just one... to see if you are well Not the whole town, darlin', not the whole crowd at your gate Just one little request... and I'll wait... and I'll wait Well you answered! Two hundred! Lord, your voice was sweet and clear So I let the traffic through again, I let the people near But if you fail me five more times, you know just what I'll do I'll trip that breaker, baby... 'cause I learned it all from you Half open... half open heart...
