Oh my god, I am finally back after so long! Sorry for the long break, had been dealing with some personal irl stuff so didn't have any free time to finish this custom campaign off.
Sooo this was an amazing final chapter. The first defense phase like all other defense missions is very stressful, but in the mission its more so, because of the great distance you have to cover to deal with enemies, and they can literally attack you on any direction, even randomly in the middle of the town where they use their flying transport to drop off troops. To make things even more exciting and stressful, you have to prevent more than 40 civilians from being killed as an optional, which to be honest isn't too bad if you are dealing with the enemies instantly. I had it upto 22 civilians dead but then they couldn't kill anymore. Thankfully during this phase you are given access to Jaina and her awesome Mass Teleport which has like a 2 second cooldown so you can and SHOULD spam that whenever possible in this mission.
For Phase 1 you should absolutely rely on these OP Enchanter units that Jaina is given access to because otherwise I promise you are going to have a hard time. Their chain heal is soo good and I just spammed that with them to keep my army alive. I focused on majorly a knight and Enchanter army with a couple of Riflemen, but you should definitely have more Riflemen in your army than I did because I struggled with those massive Frost Wyrm and Destroyer group they send frequently. Remember to instantly upgrade the Enchanters so they have their Chain Heal available.
For Kael's side, honestly I kinda did whatever, wasn't really paying attention much to his side if I am being honest, his side is more than manageable. I had a couple of Berserk Swordsmen, Archers and Priests. Kael's Flame Strike is really good, however I feel like his army is at a disadvantage because they can't traverse fast enough because Kael doesn't have a teleport like Jaina. I guess I could've bought TP Scrolls or something but eh, hindsight. Remember to upgrade both Jaina AND Kael's blacksmith, you have to manage both, yeah its kinda weird.
Honestly after you are done with Phase 1 you are kinda done? Because Phase 2 is a power fantasy type situation XD Atleast its like that if you spam Royal Guards, which I don't know why you wouldn't do because the game allows for that. If it allows me to build 7-8 demiheroes I am going to do it, dammit! And Royal Guards + Enchanters to heal them = Varimathras and Kel'thuzad easily goes down. I built a boatload of Mortar Teams as well but eh, I really didn't need them. Royal Guards' Crushing Wave is so busted, they do uncapped damage to everything and you can spam like 8 of them if you have 8 guards and it demolishes all buildings in the way!
Ok, now for the story, I will say the mapmaker did an interesting job trying to make an alternate timeline, but I will say how Arthas is defeated is kinda stupid and anticlimactic LOL. Also it would have been cool if they gave the reason of Arthas getting "unpossessed" being that Arthas and Ner'zhul had to disagree on something, and since they are one but they are disagreeing, it destroys the curse. But yeah, other than that this was a fun take. Admiral vs Arthas was really fun. Also a funny sequel bait at the end, which sadly didn't amount to anything.
I do have to play the Reanimated version in the future and see how the mapmaker changed stuff. I am excited for it now. But, I do need a break before I play that.
Next up: Not sure actually, have a couple of campaigns I am interested in, we will see what I play!
