The Return of a Veteran

On October 31, 2026, GE 65-ton locomotive Navy 1 returned to service for the first time since the flood in August of 2026. We tested the locomotive in our yard in the afternoon after a hard day of work reassembling her trucks and traction motors. Now that we have a locomotive operating, we can start making a lot more progress towards restoring our other equipment to service. We can use Navy 1 to move equipment around our yard and start running maintenance of way trains out on the line to continue repairs.
