Marlena (Deidre Hall) swallows her pride and goes to Stefano (Joseph Mascolo), asking the man who once tore her family apart to use his influence to save Sami's life, and he agrees to see what he can do. At the prison, Sami (Alison Sweeney) gathers her whole family for what feels like a final goodbye, hugging Austin (Austin Peck), Carrie (Christie Clark), Caroline (Peggy McCay), Shawn (Frank Parker), and Eric (Jensen Ackles), and asking John (Drake Hogestyn) to protect her mother from Stefano no matter what happens to her. Just as the priest arrives to administer last rites, word comes that Roberto is finally ready to talk. At the hospital, Roman (Josh Taylor) walks in on Kate (Lauren Koslow) pressing Roberto for a confession and doesn't buy her sudden change of heart for a second, but he presses forward anyway, and Roberto finally states on the record that there was no hitman at the wedding. Meanwhile, at Green Mountain Lodge, Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) learns from a hotel worker that Sami's execution is hours away, and once he realizes his mother knew and said nothing, he tells Nicole (Arianne Zucker) there's only one thing left that can save Sami, and it's on him to do it.
