The Paper Kite 《紙鳶》 — I Let Go of the String First | Chinese Fantasy Ballad

The Paper Kite — 《紙鳶》 (Zhǐ Yuān), an original Chinese fantasy song. She held the string for seven years. Then she counted to three. 📜 THE STORY On a cliff above the clouds, the wind never stops. She keeps the wind — and every spring, she flies his paper kite. The string is in her hand, the kite is in the sky. She always believed she was the one flying it. Then he began to walk without touching the ground. His rice bowl floated off the table. At night, his body drifted toward the ceiling. The kite was him all along — and she was the string. If it holds, he can never ascend. If it breaks, he can never come back. She worked on that riddle for seven years. On the day the gates of heaven opened, she counted to three. Sung in Mandarin Chinese. The on-screen lyrics are in Chinese characters — the story above tells you everything that happens.
