I lied when I said that I posted my last video 6 months ago. Indeed it was the first long form video. But I archived the following two ‘flop’ videos that just did not perform at all. Those videos were at least week’s worth of work and 10+hours of editing. I might one day speak about why I think they failed. But here’s the truth: if you are trying to build a new Youtube channel like mine: it takes time and consistency is the only answer. It took me years to build a strong and loyal community on Instagram. And although it’s a micro community - they are almighty in kindness. As we are bombarded by advice from internet marketing gurus, we often become obsessive at these so called ‘magical success formulas’. Whether this is is corporate or creative - anything that you put out there needs to be intentional, purposeful and stand out from the crowd. Looking from a content creator’s point of view, for your content to perform - we are told that it needs a good hook, clever visuals, good retention, particular posting time, making sure it attracts that right kind of audience by strategic captions and wording Aka - SEO. And it’s bloody EXHAUSTING to keep up with all of it! I can attest - I tried, I had happy results and I had no results at all from these so called marketing strategies when it comes to short form content on my other platform. The truth is - algorithms change all the time. One minute it works, the next it fails. You need to adapt fast and test’ new ideas’ all the time. I reiterate - it’s EXHAUSTING. But one thing I did find that works above any strategy out there is - YOU being your most AUTHENTIC SELF! So I am giving up the ‘polished version’ of myself on here. I am just going to be me. Unfiltered, creative on my own terms and scrapping the performative. On this channel I want to show you the true me: A Lithuanian girlie who overthinks, is notorious day dreamer and lives for the whimsy. I want to show you my beautiful, slow pace life in Kent, thrifting, home decor and pottering about. I want to show you those ordinary moments that sooth the soul.
