Why do you still miss someone even when you no longer want them in your life? Sometimes, you're not actually missing the person. You're missing the memories, the connection, the version of them you once knew, or the version of yourself you were when you were together. Psychology can help explain why this happens. In this video, we explore why you suddenly lose interest in someone you once loved, including emotional detachment, changing feelings, nostalgia, idealization, habituation, personal growth, unmet emotional needs, and the difference between emotional intensity and genuine connection. You may still remember the late-night conversations, the laughter, the first moments together, and how that person once made you feel. But remembering something beautiful doesn't necessarily mean you need to go back to it. You can miss the memory without missing the person. If you've ever wondered, “Why don't I feel the same anymore?” or “Why do I miss them but don't want them back?”, this video may help you understand what's happening beneath those feelings.
