Please Read Description for Details! Hello everyone! This video did not turn out as i wanted so here is a detailed description. The car is a Mitsubishi Pajero (Montero) L040 with the 4G54 engine. It has a carburetor with an automatic choke. However this did not work and was always closed!! It is a DIY job... Symptoms: Extremely high fuel consumption! Poor acceleration Rough idle Low operating temperature on the dashboard Problem: The carburetor uses the coolant to detect (mechanically) the temperature of the engine and if it has warmed up. These coolant lines were totally blocked preventing any coolant circulation. Solution: Clean the hose lines AND the inlets on the carburetor. Mine were totally blocked and i used a pick to break the crud. Using a chemical solution to clean those lines might help. I used radiator chemical cleaner for the whole system. At the time of the recording it was about 6 months after i cleaned the entire coolant system. Nevertheless it was quite dirty as you can see in the video. I hope this helped someone. #DIY #carrepair #howto 00:00 Intro 00.:05 Tools needed 00:12 Remove Air Cleaner 01:17 Drain the coolant 02:06 Remove carburetor hoses 02:53 Clean inlet outlet in carburator 03:24 Clean the hoses 04:10 Reinstall the hoses 04:26 Fill up coolant 04:51 Check for leaks 05:03 Thank you
