The Tiwi Islands: S04 Northern Territory E1 Road Trip Lap NT

The Tiwi Islands are resided upon by a small Indigenous population of Aborigines. On the islands of Bathurst and Melville, many people live by traditional customs and practices. We were very fortunate to spend four days with a lovely family, who taught us how to hunt for bush tucker, fish and search the mangroves for food and live off the land. Immersed in the Aboriginal culture, we formed great friendships and appreciation for this Indigenous culture and how it is being kept alive today and into the future.
