What is Havdalah? Havdalah means "distinguishing" or "separation" and it is a ritual we perform at the end of Shabbat or other holidays to distinguish between holy days and regular days, and in it we bless God for giving us the ability to distinguish between the holy and the mundane. We also say blessings for the gifts of wine, spices, and light.
