American 3D Pool – Did the Commodore 64 Need a 3D Pool Game?

🕹️ American 3D Pool (1991) – Commodore 64 3D Cue Sports Simulation Released in 1991 for the Commodore 64, American 3D Pool is an ambitious cue sports game developed by Zeppelin Games that attempted something rarely seen on 8-bit hardware: a first-person, pseudo-3D pool simulation. Instead of the usual overhead view, the game places you right at table level, emphasising depth, angles, and shot precision. 🌐 Full game info, manual & download: 👉 https://www.cheekycommodoregamer.co.u... Gameplay revolves around realistic aiming, power control, and judging perspective. The 3D-style camera changes how shots are lined up, forcing you to think carefully about spin, force, and positioning rather than relying on simple top-down geometry. This approach added a surprising amount of strategy and skill to each frame of play. Technically, American 3D Pool pushes the Commodore 64 hard, using clever shading and perspective tricks to create the illusion of depth on an 8-bit system. While performance is naturally limited by the hardware, the table, balls, and collision physics feel convincing for the era, with simple but effective sound effects reinforcing each shot. Although niche, American 3D Pool is remembered as a bold and experimental title that stood apart from other sports games on the C64. Its immersive presentation and technical ambition helped pave the way for more realistic cue sports simulations in later generations. 💬 Did the 3D viewpoint help your game, or make lining up shots even tougher? ▶️ PLAYLISTS Sports Games:    • Sports & Olympics Games – Football, Track ...   Zeppelin Games:    • Zeppelin Games – Budget Platformers, Puzzl...   💙 SUPPORT & CONNECT Patreon:   / cheekycommodoregamer   Join:    / @cheekycommodoregamer   Twitter:   / cheekyc64gamer   Facebook:   / cheekycommodoregamer   Discord:   / discord   Website: https://www.cheekycommodoregamer.co.uk #american3dpool #commodore64 #zeppelingames #sportsgame #poolgame
