Do you ever look at other people’s lives and wonder if you’re falling behind?
Someone gets married. Someone buys a house. Someone lands the job you wanted. Someone starts a family, finds their purpose, or seems to have life figured out while you’re still waiting.
And suddenly, their good news makes you question your own life.
📖 The Bible has something surprisingly relevant to say about comparison.
In John 21, Peter has just received a deeply personal calling from Jesus when he turns, looks at another disciple, and asks a question that still sounds familiar two thousand years later:
“What about him?”
Jesus’ response challenges the way we compare our lives, our timing, and even God’s plans for us.
In this episode of Scripture in Our Time, we explore why comparison can make you feel behind, how social media intensifies a struggle that is much older than social media itself, and why someone else reaching a milestone before you doesn’t necessarily mean you’re late.
Maybe the question isn’t whether you’re keeping up with everyone else.
Maybe there’s a better question to ask. 🙏
