Indian Army Debunks Viral Video on China & Arunachal Border Claims

The Indian Army’s official fact-checking wing, 'Indian Army Fact Check', has issued a formal public warning debunking a digitally manipulated deepfake video circulating across social media platforms. The altered video falsely attributed fabricated statements to senior military officer Lieutenant General Girish Kalia (General Officer Commanding, Spear Corps), claiming he made a "leaked admission" that China had taken control of Asaphila, Longju, and Taksing Circle in Arunachal Pradesh, and that deployed troops were being denied essential supplies. The Indian Army clarified that this is a case of Synthetic Generated Information (#SyntheticGeneratedInformation) overlaid onto archival footage to trigger public panic and spread military disinformation. Key Facts Revealed by the Indian Army: Original Context: The visual footage dates back to October 27, 2023, in Kupwara, Jammu & Kashmir, where then-Maj Gen Girish Kalia (then GOC 28 Infantry Division) was briefing media exclusively on counter-terror operations along the LoC. Actual Briefing Details: The press meet highlighted the elimination of 27 terrorists, 10 foiled infiltration attempts, and seizures of arms and narcotics. Zero Mention of China: The officer never mentioned China, territory in Arunachal Pradesh, or troop supply issues. The Disinformation Formula: Old Military Footage + AI/Audio Manipulation + False Attribution = Coordinated Propaganda. The military has advised citizens and netizens to practice digital caution and independently verify sources before sharing manipulated content. #IndianArmy #IndianArmyFactCheck #Deepfake #FakeNews #FactCheck #ArunachalPradesh #China #IndiaChinaBorder #GirishKalia #SpearCorps #IndianArmyNews #Misinformation #Disinformation #CyberSecurity #DeepfakeVideo #NationalSecurity #BorderSecurity #IndiaChinaRelations #DefenceNews #news9livestreaming ..............................................................................................
