Women Owned SME’s

USAID Enterprise Devlopment and Growth Enhanced (EDGE) project SMEs have created over 1,500 female jobs. Women play a vital role in Zambia's agricultural sector, yet face challenges accessing the necessary resources. USAID EDGE collaborates closely with women-owned small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Central, Eastern, and Lusaka provinces using a facilitative approach that shifts away from direct financial assistance and input subsidies. Instead, USAID EDGE leverages a network of partnerships to advance its goal of generating employment opportunities and enhancing the financial viability of agricultural SMEs. By working with the women-owned SMEs, USAID EDGE is helping women in agriculture to attain profitability and strengthen Zambia's food security.
