Walking the Grand Union Canal Towpath PART 3 (Warwick to Stockton)

In 2024, just before I became ill, I walked the first stage of the Grand Union Canal Towpath with my friends, from Birmingham to Lapworth. I was unable to complete the rest of this long distance route with my friends due to my illness. They did complete this full walk and really enjoyed it. Now it's time I follow in their footsteps and walk the remaining hundred and thirty or so miles alone. This is part 3 of that walk between Warwick (where I left off last time) and the Boat Inn at Stockton, which just so happened to be my 200 mile milestone! That is, 200 miles of my 2,000 mile walk around Britain's canal and river network. After a tough year (2024) suffering with a bad ulcerative colitis flare-up, I decided to walk all 2,000 miles of Britain’s canal towpaths to rebuild my physical fitness, conquer my anxiety about leaving the house, and reconnect with the world outside. It’s more than just a personal challenge. It’s also about raising awareness of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and the incredible work carried out by Crohn’s & Colitis UK.
