MY SILENT WORLD: Hearing impaired children struggle with remote learning

In Uganda, learning institutions, especially lower primary schools, have been closed for close to one and a half years. As such, many schools have devised means of having the learners continue with their education via online lessons. But parents of children with hearing impairment say the remote classes are designed for children who can hear and there is nothing specially designed for those with special needs. And because the parents largely depended on the teachers to instruct the children, many do not have the sign-language skills to teach their children.
