MSAFIRI ZAWOSE • solo on Ilimba, Pully, Suisse, 2026

MSAFIRI ZAWOSE filmed by Vincent Moon in Pully, Switzerland October 2026 —-— I met Msafiri 18 years ago - in his home village of Bagamoyo, north of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Welcomed by the music community of the Zawose family, we did a short and beautiful recording at the time, but never met since then. It's only a few months ago that I got the opportunity to invite him to take part in "La Symphonie de Ségriès" - https://symphonie.cc/en - our musical retreat in the south of France. Following that magical week along 20 other musicians, we went on a short tour through the Alps and ended up performing at the City Club of Pully, on the shores of Lake Léman. It's there that, two hours before the show, we went to a nearby park and recorded this one take on ilimba, the traditional Gogo thumbpiano that he built. Enjoy the spirit and wisdom of the Zawose ancestry going through the veins of Msafiri - and as it's "Music, the answer to everything" • https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Msafiri... watch our original recording from 2008 in Bagamoyo    • MSAFIRI ZAWOSE - Binadamu ni Mapambo (Baga...   follow Msafiri on    / msafirizawose   https://msafirizawose.bandcamp.com/   / mzawose   ✚✚✚ ABOUT VINCENT MOON / PETITES PLANÈTES Petites Planètes is an ongoing project composed of films, music recordings, live cinéma performances, and installations created by Vincent Moon in 2010.
