Escape is within our reach... For the first time since Resident Evil 4 Remake’s release week, I’m heading back to rural Spain and stepping into the boots of Leon S. Kennedy once again. It’s been over three years since I last experienced this incredible remake from start to finish — after completing it multiple times during release week — so this runthrough is all about rediscovering one of the finest Resident Evil games of the modern era. No speedrunning. No rushing. Just taking my time, soaking up the atmosphere, revisiting the story... and probably getting caught out by an enemy once or twice. But in Part Five, Leon S. Kennedy will be tested in ways he never thought possible... Ashley was captured during the previous chapter. Now, Leon must rescue her for a second time; except she isn’t simply waiting inside an empty church anymore. She has been dragged deeper into the nightmare, and the forces standing between Leon and his mission are becoming deadlier by the minute. We’ll finally confront Salazar, meet the enigmatic and deeply sinister Lord Saddler, and come face-to-face with a ghost from Leon’s past. We’ll battle our way through the Clock Tower, escape the castle and make the dangerous journey to the island. From there, we’ll descend into its darkened laboratories, venture through the Ruins and uncover disturbing truths about Saddler’s plans for Ashley. And then there’s the small matter of the Regenerators... There are more monsters. The number of cultists is getting ridiculous. The odds are rapidly stacking up against us, and every step towards freedom seems to lead Leon deeper into hell. There’s still a Merchant carrying a suspicious amount of weaponry beneath his coat, but unlike Salazar, Saddler is a man possessed. He will not be mocked, distracted or deterred from his ultimate goal of world domination. The castle was only the beginning. It’s time to venture onto the island, rescue Ashley and get the hell out of here. Welcome to Resident Evil 4 Remake.
