I had never owned an embroidery machine, never run my own business, and honestly didn’t even know you could build an embroidery business from home. After leaving a 13-year career in oral surgery management, I knew I wanted to work from home. That’s when I discovered machine embroidery—and I went straight to YouTube to learn everything I could. I purchased my Brother Entrepreneur Pro X PR1055X 10-needle embroidery machine in January 2025 and opened Threadz Embroidery just a few months later. Since then, I’ve learned about embroidery machines, hooping, stabilizers, thread, tension, hat embroidery, personalized products, Etsy, Shopify, pricing, marketing, and what it REALLY takes to start an embroidery business from home. And I've made plenty of mistakes along the way. 😂 Now I want to give back and help other embroiderers learn some of the things YouTube helped teach me.
