The MOST TASTIEST Beef Korma Recipe | How to make Beef Kurma | Kerala Style Beef Kuruma Recipe | Christmas & New Year Special Recipes
Kerala Style Beef Kuruma Recipe - Another dish to add to your Christmas lunch menu. A rich and comforting curry made with cashew & raisin paste and coconut milk (thin & thick extract). The prep work for this beef korma is surprisingly simple. Once marinated, all you have to do is wait for the beef korma to simmer to the right taste and tenderness. Garnishing with fried onions and cashews gives it a wonderful presentation. This curry pairs well with our famous south Indian special breakfast recipes, ghee rice, pathiri or porottas.
Here’s the recipe from my kitchen to yours.
Happy Cooking !

1 tbsp Vegetable Oil
Other Ingredients :
200 ml Vegetable Oil
2 large (250 gms) Onion (sliced)
10 nos Cashewnuts
10 nos Raisins (optional)
2 tbsp Coconut Oil
1 tsp Ghee
1 stick Cinnamon
2 nos. Green Cardamoms
3 to 4 Cloves
1 small Bay Leaf
15 to 20 (60 gms) Shallots (sliced)
2 inch (9 gms) Ginger (finely chopped)
10 flakes (16 gms) Garlic (finely chopped)
3 Green Chillies (finely chopped)
1 large (120 gms) Tomato (choppped)
Handful of Coriander Leaves
Few Mint Leaves
200 ml Coconut Milk (thin extract) OR Water (use after rinsing the blender jar)
½ tsp Pepper Powder
1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
100 ml Coconut Milk (thick extract)
Note : tsp is teaspoon
tbsp is tablespoon
Note :
1. To make coconut milk from freshly grated coconut :
Grate the flesh of one coconut and transfer it to a mixer grinder. Add about 1/2 cup of warm water and pulse the mixer grinder for a few seconds.
Line a bowl with cheese/muslin cloth and transfer the ground coconut into it. Cover the cloth into a bundle and squeeze to extract thick milk. Repeat the same process again with the already squeezed coconut shreds to make thin extract. Keep both the extracts in separate bowls.
2. Preparing coconut milk from coconut milk powder (for instance Maggi) :
To make approx 2 cups thin milk - Dissolve 6 tbsp coconut milk powder in 1-1/2 cups warm water
To make approx 1 cup thick milk - Dissolve 6 tbsp coconut milk powder in 3/4th cup warm water
