Running a marathon on the Great Wall of China?
Yes. It’s real. And it’s just as grueling and epic as it sounds.
This is my 105th marathon, and I can confidently say: this was one of the toughest I’ve ever done. With over 5,000 steps, brutal elevation, mud trails, gravel, heat, and no flat relief, this course challenges both body and mind.
But it’s not just the physical feat — it’s the atmosphere, the setting, the historic magnificence of running on a structure built 2,000+ years ago.
I documented every twist, turn, and leg-burning step in this full experience video — so you can see what it’s really like.
📍 Location: Great Wall Marathon, China
🕒 Finish Time: 6 hours
🏁 Goal: To finish under the 8-hour cutoff – injury-free and in one piece 😅
🎥 Filmed throughout the entire course – trail, wall, hills, and crowd vibes
