What happens when you step outside the people, places and perspectives you already know? In this episode of Notions, Potions & Curiosities, I’m hanging out with my dear friend YuSon Shin, an international intuitive healer and serious lover of travel. YuSon shares her notion that people are mirrors, and that when we surround ourselves with the same people all the time, we tend to see the same parts of ourselves. Travel changes the mirror. Different cultures, languages, beliefs and ways of living can show us parts of ourselves we might never have discovered otherwise. From there, we wander exactly where you’d expect us to wander. We talk about cultural differences, food as a connector, getting outside our comfort zones, inherited family patterns, seeing our upbringing from a different perspective, and what can happen when we stop assuming there’s only one way to live. YuSon also introduces her personal potion: mushroom coffee and the morning ritual she loves.
